Memo (Silently?) Repared by Observer
Dang, I wish I'd saved the original text after I posted last night -- not that that can't be faked too. I could create a web page, just like anyone can create am email. Anyhow, the version of the alleged memo posted to the Observer website now says "Jan 31 2003" instead of "23/01/2003" and all of the British spellings have been replaced with American spellings... but they seem to have "fixed" it silently. It's mighty fishy that they couldn't at least note that the change was made and give their explantion. The internet is chock full of opportunities for pulling a Winston Smith. Unless something makes it into the google.com cache (or similar), websites can re-write history with a few clicks of the keyboard. I forget ... haven't we allways been at war with Oceana?
